Motorhome has 454 Chevrolet engine. Reverse will engage with occasional use. When repeated shifting in and out of reverse occurs (like parking with trailer attached), eventually reverse will not engage. After sitting for a while, reverse function returns.

Check fluid level if you can some cannot be checked. If fluid goes low you lose reverse on these models. Then have a transmission professional scan for codes.
