Transmission not working properly

I just got the car. Transmission is really jumpy and you really need to step on it but if you do the RPMs skyrocket.

Good morning,

This sounds like it is slipping internally or not shifting.

I would start by changing the fluid and the filter and see if it improves. It could be either low in fluid or the filter itself is clogged.

If it is an electronic issue, it will store a code. Is the check engine light on?

I will look into getting the fluid and filter changed. No, there isn’t any codes showing. Just some occasional jerking and almost like low power when struggling to get up hills.
