I have a 91' toyota MR2 and the clutch went out on it a while back so I took it to a so called mechanic and he installed a new clutch, he said that he needed to put some small piece in it for shifting smoothness im not sure what it was called but he never put it in. The next day I notice my car has a leak from where he installed the clutch so he replaces a seal that went where the cv axle connects then after I think that its finished I hear a strange rubbing/ grinding kind of noise every time I push the clutch in. After a two days of trying to get a hold of him to tell him about the strange noises, then as I go to accelerate from a stop light im having a very hard time shifting to first and hear a terrible grinding noise then about half a mile down the road I cant shift at all. Can some one please tell me whats wrong?

Hi nicholi,

Thank you for the donation.

Did you replace the clutch assy or the hydraulics?

Seems you have a problem with the hydraulics and it could be leaking and not providing sufficient movement of the clutch fork to release the clutch for engagement.

Check if the clutch master cylinder fluid level is correct.
