Car idles smoothy. But if stopped or in "park", the idle will increase slightly from around 700 RPM to maybe 1000 RPM for a few seconds and go back down. AC not on. Is that normal.

Yes it is normal.

When coming to a stop there is a "load" on the engine (transmission).
When shifting into park the "load" is off, so the engine will idle a little higher until Idle Air Control valve moves to reset idle, a few seconds is normal.

Idle will increase when in defrost mode, AC mode, steering wheel is turned etc.
