Engine Performance problem
1990 Toyota Corolla 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

The car keeps stalling. I believe it is just a severe misfire but im not certain. When we rev the engine, smoke comes out of the airfilter housing. The motor rattles and does not sound healthy.

Check the timing belt, if it has not been changed in 60K change it.

Check fuel pressure with mechanical gauge (special tool set required).

Replace plugs, wires, cap, rotor.
