My airbag light stays on all the time and my horn doesn't work, both problems started at the same time. I checked all fuses and relays, their good. I applied 12v directly to the horn and it works. Any idea what the problem could be?

Thanks,
Pete Allen

Hi Peter

The steering air bag and horn coil is faulty. Did you remove the steering wheels or do any repairs on the steering system?

When the wire coil is not properly installed, it would break when you make full turn on the steering wheels.

No repairs to steering system. Where exactly is the steering air bag and horn coil and is it easy to replace?

Thanks,
Pete

Hi Peter,

The wire coil is located just under the steering wheel. You need to remove the steering wheel to get at it.

Removal and installation of the air bag unit must be done with care as it can detonate due to impact, shock or shorting.

The wire coil needs to be turned to the correct position and clearance to ensure it is not broken or twisted when it coils or uncolis when turning the steering wheel.
