1993 Camry hesitation

My car is a 1993 camry v6 with about 180,000 miles on it. Every once in a while it hesitates mainly when im going from reverse to drive. After it does it i'll try to get it to do it again and it wont. Its driving me nuts! Also what are the major signs of a transmission giving out?

That model year V-6 has a recall for bad head gaskets. The number is VO-6 I think. 80% of v-6's in that year had bad head gaskets.

The 1st sign of trans failure in the toyota v6 fwd cars is poor engagement into reverse. Sometimes they can delay and sometimes they will slam hard into reverse.

What do head gaskets have to do with a neutral to reverse shift problem?
