1991 Toyota Camry My Speedo Cable

My speedometer cable keeps going out. I have bought three of them and not one will work. They work for about a little over 100 miles and they will automatically die. Its always the bottom piece and the little teeth that go into the transmission will break off leaving me with a broken wire. It has happened 3 times and I cant seem to get it together. Any help

Hi there, if the speedo drive is failing you nay have a chipped tooth on the drive gear, as the speedo gear is only plastic, this may account for the failure.
