I have a bad knocking in the back of my motor. I just had the oil changed the day before it started. When you first start it up when its cold the motor does not knock for about 5 minutes. Can anyone please tell me what to do. Thanks Danny

Knocking noises is it a clicking/tapping/rapping/thudding/thumping noise-

Might want to check the oil pressure for a start. Could be a clogged pick up screen/sludge/weak oil pump/engine bearings etc.

Its more like a thudding, its bad enough that I am afraid to drive it. Should I try a motor flush? Thanks Danny

You can try engine flush-don't work check the oil pressure. The knocking sounds like rod bearings

I am going to check the oil pressure, Would it be rod bearings if it runs good for about 5 minutes at cold startup? Thanks again

Could be who knows-knocking in the lower portion of the engine can be the rod or main bearings -check the oil pressure.
