1995 Toyota 4Runner exhaust problems

Feels like it is going to stall and there is a very strong odor of gas coming from the tail pipe and smoke coming from the tail pipe

Sounds likeit has a misfire or rich condition. On the top front of the engine is a fuel pressure regulator. It has a small vacuum line that goes to it. See if there is any fuel in thesmall vacuum line, if so you need to replace it. If not, you may have an injector or possibly a bad plug or wire causing the rich condition/misfire.
