Engine Performance problem
1987 Toyota 4Runner 4 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic 200K miles

Engine and idle run fine but upon applying brakes RPM, s drop and engine bogs down as if wanting to shut off.

Hi there,

Your brake booster may be leaking vacuum, check this out first by removing the vacuum line and plugging it, remember your brakes now are very poor so don't drive, press the brakes and see if the engine still bogs down if so it will be a vacuum leak at the booster.
