Hi I have an 87 toyota 4runner 4x4 5 speed and it idles fine and then when I try to move it wants to die but I can get it to move with high rpms but stil wants to die when switching gears every time I try to get it going it dies then I push the clucth in and its fine and starts to idle again.

Check the fuel pressure if its within specs and also check the choke plate opening, accelerator pump and power valve of the carbuerator-also the EGR valve-

It's not carbureted it's efi I put a new computer in and still doing the same thing fuel pressure is perfect
