I live in eastern NC and have a '86 4Runner that won't start. Symptoms: I go out to crank it one afternoon (it ran fine just a few hours before) and right at first it sounded like it wanted to start, and after that inital try, it wasn't even close to starting. But if I give it a few minutes. It'll sound like it wants to start, but doesn't and then repeats the whole thing over. I took it to a shop the first time this happened and they replaced the blown EFI fuse and they unplugged and plugged back in the cold start injector switch, and the truck started right up and ran fine for a week or so. Now I'm back in the same boat. I messed with the cold start swith and checked the EFI fuse and it was good. But it still won't start. Any ideas?

If you haven't fixed this yet. Take a look at the wires to the injector time switch as they sometimes become loose, also check the Coolant Temperature Sensor. . If they check out spray some starting fluid in the throttle body. If it cranks it's, then it's not getting fuel. Tell me what happeneds.
