Is there a special wrench needed to remove the oil filter

Do I need a special wrench to remove oil filter?

Should not be. the lid on the canister unscrews, you remove the old element and O-ring, install the new element and O-ring and tighten the cap back down. Only tool I have ever used was a rubber glove to keep the oil off my hand.
