I have about had it with this car. The car was having issues starting earlier this winter so at first we replaced the battery, then we replaced the battery connectors. This worked for a while until eventually the car wouldn't start again. At first this just required a reset by disconnecting the negative battery terminal and allowing for the anti-theft to reset. Eventually this even did not work. Next, I posed the question on a site similar to this one and had a mechanic come out, boost the battery, start it up and assume it was the alternator. So after paying close to $400 for the alternator to be replaced, now the car will not start at all. I am at my wits end. A couple of notes:

When I attempt to jump start the car, the lights and power in the car will not come on unless attached to the hero car.

I've had the battery tested again and was told that the battery was fine but the charge was only at 79%

I even tried bypassing the TIPM and running new battery cables directly to the positive and negative terminals and there was no power to the car

When I connected the jumper cables to the avenger there was a loud clicking sound coming from right under the ignition switch

When I attempted to start the Avenger while connected to the other car, it would only click.

While connected to the other car I even made sure to unlock the car using the key fob to ensure that the anti theft was aware the car was un-locked. No dice.

I just want to know what else could be getting in the way of the car getting power, because it seems as if even with this supposedly good battery that the car isn't getting any power when connected to the battery. I also want it to work.

Thanks,

This car will need to be seen by a mechanic and have him scan for codes it may be your tpim module which is below your fuse box under hood. It controls power to car as well as to start the car. Thre is a can bus system in the car which may mean something is talking to the other and more than likely causing the majority of your problems
