Hi, does anyone know the wiring diagram for the temperature sensor? Which color wire is which? I am hooking up a digital gauge and I want to make sure I am tapping into the right wires. There are three wires total on the wire harness that goes to the temperature sensor.

Good morning.

I attached a wiring diagram for you to view of the coolant sensor and the gauge unit in the dash.

Do not tap into anything. You will need to run a separate harness for your unit. You may interfere with fuel mapping from the PCM.

How would I run a separate harness for an aftermarket digital temperature gauge? And tapping into the dark green wire which goes to the temperature gauge on the cluster inside the vehicle could mess up the fuel mapping?

Do not tap into any wire in the computer harness at all. You will cause nothing but havoc with the system.

You could get a Y adapter where the coolant sensor mounts and install your temperature sensor from your kit. Then you can provide power from the fuse box and the return wire would go the digital gauge.

Well, the the original temperature sensor has three pins one to the computer one ground and one to the gauge inside the car. That is the wire I wanted to use for the gauge, but if I tap into the wire for the gauge you said would create havoc which I do not want. So without removing my original temperature sensor and wire harness from the sensor how would I hook the aftermarket temperature gauge up?

You would need to find a new place for the new sensor to go. Look around the head for a welch plug for the cooling system. You could remove it and install your sensor there and run your wiring according to the directions with the gauge.
