Ok I was driving my 92 camaro rs when it made a loud pop and quit. I put a new fuel pump on and it would run for 3 seconds then die. Also put a new distributer, timing chain, while it was not running, so I checked the fuel pressure and it was a few pounds off so put another fuel pump on and it runs now but it is crackin and popping. Thought maybe put a plug wire on the wrong plug but that wasnt it so cleanied the injectors and that wasnt it. What would cause that cracking and popping?

Well I talked to the guy that has been workin on it and so far he hasnt made anymore progress on it. He did tell me that it is popping out of both the intake and exhaust. I did put a new timing chain on when the car was not running. I dont know if it would make it pop like that if the timing was a little off or not?

Well the compression was checked and the timing was also checked and everything is right. He said that he is going to put another distributer on there and see if that changes anything. What else do you think it might be?

Ok he put a new distributer, and cap, an it is still cracking and popping. He said that he thinks that it is something with the cam. He said a lot of those chevy small blocks had that problem.
