We changed the brake pedal and then lights don't work?

Are you referring to the brake pedal and not base? I need that confirmed. As far as the brake pedal, the brake light switch is there and you need to make sure it is properly installed and adjusted. Also, fuse 13 in the fuse panel under the dash supplies power. Check that, check the switch operation, and adjustment. Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know what happens.

Now, if you take a look at the schematic I attached, you will see there is a splice after the switch. There is a light green wire that goes to the brake lights and a dark green one that supplies power the third high mounted brake light. So, if that one is working, then we know the fuse is good. See pic 2 for how power is distributed to the brake lights.

As far as the brake pedal switch, here are the directions for replacing the switch. I'm adding that process because it shows and explains how the switch is actuated.

REMOVAL

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.

2. Disconnect the Brake Pedal Position (BPP) switch connector.

3. Remove the BPP switch.
1 Remove the self locking pin.
2 Remove the spacer.
3 Remove the BPP switch.

INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedures.

NOTE: When the battery is disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 mi) or more to relearn the strategy.
