Sudden acceleration then stalling and missing

The car suddenly accelerates and then starts stalling after diving for 18 to 20 miles on interstate. When it cool off after about an hour, it runs good for another 18 to 20 miles and does the same thing again.

Welcome to 2CarPros.

That is an odd one. Does it start right back up? In my mind, I'm suspecting an issue with fuel pressure. If it drops, it will cause a lean mixture which can cause the RPM's to increase before they drop.

Let me know if it starts right back up or if you have to wait. Also, let me know if the check engine light is staying on when the engine is running.
