Hey 2CarPros,

My uncle recently gave me his car. He also gave me a "snap in" stereo that I think he got custom installed. For some reason though, when snapped in, and with the car started, the stereo wont turn on.

I checked the fuses that correspond to the radio (as per the manual) (8D and 9C) and both are fine. Are they supposed to be 10A?

Any suggestions? Is there any way to tell if the problem is with the stereo itself? I do not have access to another stereo unfortunately.

Check for power at radio otherwise have a radio shop look at it. If it is a custom radio it may have its own fuse in back.
