The radio volume raises to full on. My radio has steering wheel controls. The steering wheel volume switch will not raise volume, only decrease, but not when volume is raising in its own. I don't want to repair it, only stop it. Where and which wire do I cut? 1998 lesabre limited, 45K miles, 3.8L. Thanks.

Dont cut any wires. Try removing the steering wheel cover to gain access to the controls and unplug them or see what color wires they are and unplug them at the bottom of the steering column

I had a 2000. Sometimes if I lower the volume on the steering wheel it would let me raise it.

Just a thought, although you probably tried that.
