Was driving home and the car suddenly shut off. Starts back up like nothing is wrong, then shuts off again a few blocks down the road. Check engine light on, one code po336 (crank sensor). Replaced crank sensor, unhooked battery, waited about 30 minutes, hooked up and started fine, ran for about 20 minutes then shut off again, started up and immediately shut off again. Went out the next day, started up and ran for about 20 minutes and shut off again. Again starts up and immediately shuts off, no check engine light now. Fuel pressure fluctuates from 48 to 58psi. Once I started it and it tried to shut off and was able to keep it running by pushing accelerator, held at around 2,000 rpm's and it again shut off. Suspect either fuel pump or high pressure fuel pump (DI engine), but which one or am I way off base here?

Does the code that you had for the crank sensor come back when this happens? Also, the fuel pressure could be the issue but it is technically within spec. It is supposed to be 40-87 PSI so let's come back to fuel if there are no codes now.

So let's check codes again and go from there.
