Scan for codes and check the fuel pressure with a gauge first. Most auto parts stores rent the gauge. Also, on this car check near rear stud on head for harness worn through not allowing it to start. If it is use solder connections and shrink tube and try to reroute harness away from the stud.

I can't get it started to take it in for a diagnostic, but could it be the fuel pump relay?

Check fuel pressure, if power goes to pump then relay is good it only works for about 2 seconds on start up. See pictures on how to diagnose and get back to us with numbers. Also, make sure to check the harness.
