My car recently started not starting. I noticed when it was cold it took a few times to turn over. Then three days ago it just stopped firing up. When I turn the key over the starter makes a whirling sound. It will start eventually but takes a long time. I replaced the battery yest, the starter itself is only two years old. I'm wondering if it could possibly be a relay or if the solenoid is bad. Where should I start?

I wanted to add that it makes a whirling sound and won't start when it's cold. Once the engine is warm it fires up every time.

This sounds like the starter motor is bad, the starter drive ear is not being engaged, if you upload a short video i can tell for sure here are the instructions on how to change the starter out in the images below. Also, this generic guide can help walk you through the steps.

Check out the images (below). Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem.
