Car starts and runs fine except when car is put into gear [forward or reverse]. The engine always shakes and then shuts off. I have replaced both camshaft sensors two times already and cleared codes. Code is always P0345 any ideas? This car is in really nice condition so I don't want to get rid of it.

Good thing we have a code but I would think the issue is a wiring issue or some other issue with the circuit.

Here is the testing that we need to do in order to find out what the cause is. Please notice the first page where it gives a list of possible causes so we need to work through this to find out what it is.

Please let me know what questions you have. Thanks.

Thanks for the info. I don't have lots of experience with all these sensors. I'm an old Mopar Man. Think 1965 through 1970's. I'll see what I can figure out and let you know. Again, Thanks for the info.

Haha. I am a current Mopar Man so I am sure we can work through this Mazda.

Just follow the steps and I am sure we will find the issue.
