When I lock the steering the engine cuts out

I recently put a new engine, flywheel and clutch in my car and since then when there is no revs and I lock the steering the engine cuts out but if there are revs it doesnt my mechanic cant find the problem

See if there is awire pinched due to the engine removal. It may be cutting power or fuel to the engine. If it is a different model engine that may be cause as well.

No the mechanic said there is no pinched wire. Still have the problem and anyone I speak to is drawing a blank. Please help I miss my car!

Try cleaning the throttle plate on both sides with choke cleaner, then check fuel pressure and then have you power steering switch checked it may be causing this. When you lock there is a switch there to increase the rpms.
