My Stabil Trak light recently came on?

I just got my car back from an accident and within the week, this light has come on making my car shake a little. The light has never come on before. I have to take my car back to the dealership to have some details put back on my car and I am going to leave it with them to see if this was caused by my previous accident.

Can I ask if the airbags went off in the accident?

Traction/Stability Control Indicator

The instrument cluster turns the traction/stability control indicator ON when the following occurs:

The instrument cluster performs the brake light bulb check.

The electronic brake control module detects a malfunction which disables the traction/stability control and sends a serial data message to the instrument cluster requesting illumination.

The driver manually disables the traction/stability control by pressing and holding the traction control switch for five seconds. The electronic brake control module sends a serial data message to the instrument cluster requesting illumination.

If none of these apply, we need to run the codes for the traction control system which this guide can show you how easy it is.

Sometimes it is a front wheel bearing hub which houses the ABS sensor that causes the light to come on, the code will tell us which one it is. For this I have included the instructions on how to change the bearing hub out in the images below. Please let us know what happens and check the images below.

The air bags did not go off.

The car is in the shop now and I was just told that it has a misfire, and it needs an oil change. I was aware it needs an oil change; the light has only been on for a week. She is saying the oil is not completely gone but they needed permission to an oil change to further investigate what the real issue is. Would a misfire cause the Stabil Trak light to come on and have issues? I thought it was a sensor. I was hit pretty hard in the back end of my vehicle. Do you think the accident has anything to do with the new issues I am currently having? Thank you for your time.

Was the light on before the accident? We need to do the code read so we know where to look. Can you please get a scanner and check the codes? You can get a CAN scanner (Controller Area Network) from Amazon.
