I have the truck listed above with a 4.9 I6 backed by a 5 speed manual transmission. The other morning when I went to go to work I noticed that my speedometer was not working. No movement, stays at zero. Also the odometer is completely blank. Still has back-light but no read out. It's a 5 gauge cluster and the rest of the gauges work. No check engine light and it doesn't run any different. Checked the fuses and they are good. What could it be?

More then likely you have an issue with the control module. I attached the info for this. Basically this is the cluster. It is typical when both of these fail that the microprocessor is at fault and requires replacement.

Let me know what questions you have. Thanks

If I replace the whole cluster would that fix this issue?

Yes. That is what appears to be the issue. Unfortunately that is the only way to replace this is the entire cluster. I am sure that some people take them apart and try to replace the microprocessor but you either need to be really skilled in electronics or it never works out to well. The manual says to replace the entire unit so that is what I would do.

Clearly there could be another issue as I am not looking at the vehicle but based on this info, if it were me, I would replace it.
