Speedometer/odometer

My truck is a 1995 ford f-150, about 140,000 miles. Recently my speedometer and odometer stopped working. When the truck moves, the speedometer instantly maxes out, and the odometer always reads"ERROR". I was thinking it was the vehicle speed sensor, but I do not know where that is located, or how hard/expensive that will be to replace/fix. If you have any other ideas about what could be the problem, please let me know. Thanks.

This is most likely due to the output shaft speed sensor. Either the sensor or the wiring to the cluster is the issue so I would suggest starting with replacing the sensor as this is the likely issue.

I am attaching the info below but please make sure you are replacing the sensor at the left-hand rear of the transmission which is the driver side.

This is the only speed sensor that is related to the speedometer and odometer, so we need to make sure we get the correct one.

Please let me know what questions you have.

Thanks
