Front three, from accessory drive end, are 2-4-6 rear three are 1-3-5
Firing order is 1-2-3-4-5-6

Coils starting at the controller end (1 and 4) (6 and 3) (2 and 5), Waste spark system so actual locations of each pair on their coil does not matter.

Six cylinder two wheel drive Automatic 100,000 miles.

I was replacing the plug wires and replaced them. The car is not running well at all now and I fear to drive it.

Six cylinder front wheel drive automatic 90,000 miles.

Have a century with 3.1. OBD-II says number six cylinder misfire. Looking at the engine from front of car, which cylinder is number six?

Towards the firewall, the plug wire is broken. Again, it is the firewall side of engine, furtherest on the left near alternator.

I think this is number five so why is it showing number six misfire? A diagram would help.

Since it is not my car, I do not want to buy a manual.

Six cylinder 3.1L engine two wheel drive automatic.

I just changed spark plugs and my car now is in rough idle and sputtering. I used Autolite platinum. I want to know the spark plug order. I numbered my wires and I may have messed it up. Is it -2-3 along the fire wall with 1 being on the passenger side? And 4-5-6 in the front with 6 being on the passenger side. I assume that is to correspond with the numbers on the distributor cap.

Last time I changed plugs I changed wires.

The part that says front in the diagram is passenger side. You have a coil pack, no distributor, correct?

JDL,
Thanks for the diagram. I had two and four switched. Yes, I have a coil pack. I mistakenly said distributor, also working on my old gas tractor.
