This Morning my car is dead. Could the battery have gone bad and given off this smell?

Last night I started smelling a funky egg smell coming from AC vent. It has stunk up my whole house now from being in garage. I thought maybe it is the cat converter. This morning my car is dead. Could the battery have gone bad and given off this smell?

Hello,

The stink for sulfur or egg smell means your battery is leaking acid.
That smell can also be associated with the catalytic converter but since you have the battery issue all of a sudden it is likely the battery.

Carefully inspect the battery for leakage. If it is leaking replace it.
