my car never failed to start. I shut it off, when I tried to start it the next time, it wont start

Ok to help out on this one I need alot more info like does the engine rotate when u turn the key?If not can u hear the starter click?Does it rotate and not start?Does it rotate and try to start?I need to know so I know what direction were going into to diagnose it. Let me know.
