1992 Saturn SL2 Please answer my car question

When I Try to start my car it starts up sometimes and I can drive it for 5 mins and then it breaksdown I know when I try to start the car I do hear the fuel pump come on so I know that it is not that. Do you know what it can be or what what I can do to fix it

Need to check for spark and check fuel pressure

Take alternator off vehicle and take to autozone and have it tested let me know if that is your prob.
