my transmission started going into all the gears except 2cd, once I cut if off to inspect it would only go in 1st, reverse and 5th can tou tell me whats wrong

It sounds like one of your shifter cables came loose I would check under your hood make sure the cables have there clips attaching it the transmission and the clips attaching the cable ends to the shifter arms. On the inside at the base of the shifter make sure both cables are attached. Let me know what you find.
