When I come from a complete stop, and accelerate my car makes a squealing noise on the inside of the car, but it stops when I let off the gas?

Does it sound like the engine drive belt or something else try putting the a/c on and see if the squeling gets worse let me know what u ind.

Ok I turned the a/c on and tried going from a complete stop and the noise was still there when I turned it off it was quieter but I still heard it. What do I do I don't want a hefty bill to fix it

Sounds like u have a weak engine belt tenisor it's hard to say without hearing it but u said with the a/c on the squeling was worse can u still hear it when taking off from a stop without the a/c on?What model car do u have sl1 sl2 ls etc?
