1997 Saturn SC1 leaking

1997 Saturn SC1 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

My transmission is leaking somewhere near the filter. I have changed the filter when I thought that was the problem. There is sometimes a whinny noise like the tranny has low fluid until I get to higher gears or I been driving awhile. However that's also when it leaks the most. As long as the fluid doesn't get too low it operates normally.
