1995 SAAB ng900 SE stopped running while driving

While driving engine hesitated then rpm dropped to idle could hear backfires in engine I stopped for a couple of minutes the car idled rough then smoothed out drove another 30 miles with no problems started the car left out got about 10 miles and it did it again but this time it stalled it acts like its flooded when you start it. It won't stay idling. It has 1/4 tank of gas. It has a 2.5 v6 manual trans. Any ideas?

I think you either got some bad gas or you have water in your tank.
Have you had it long?
Is this the first time you have had issues.
I had the EXACT same thing happen recently and we ended up dropping & draining the gas tank, also pulling & cleaning the injectors/fuel lines.
I had just filled up the day before.

Still could be other things, but the symptoms fit mine exactly.
