Hi there! So I just recently purchased this car, and I ended up getting pulled over about two weeks ago because the running lights on the back of the car were out. My boyfriend and I bought new bulbs, replaced them, and still had the same issue. Brake lights work, but running lights do not.

When we got pulled over the first time, the officer told us if we have to drive at night before the lights are fixed, we need to turn on our hazard lights, which is what we had been doing until a couple days later those lights along with both turn signals just stopped working.

We were pulled over literally every day last week on the way home after work because it is dark by then and I cannot not drive. I am assuming it is a fuse or maybe wiring, but I am not very mechanically inclined so I wanted to ask someone with more know how about these kind of things.

Hi BMICHELLE,

The taillights and front combination lights are in one circuit. If the front are also not working, that would most probably be a blown fuse. As to the hazard and turn signals, they work on different fuses but the relay is common among them. Since both are not functioning, it could be due to a fault with the hazard(turn signal) relay.

Start with checking the fuses, for the hazard and taillight, they are in the under hood fuse box.
Turn signal fuse is in under dash fuse box.
