When you coast up to a stop, and just before it stops it will jump forward like it just jumps into 1st gear. Had it to GM and they replaced the fluid and some wiring harness in or on the transmission. It seemed to do good for a while but after a month it was back doing the same thing. Took it back and dealer said it was doing okay, contacted GM and really no luck there. Even the service manager said that GM had no fix for this problem. It has jerked so much that there seems to be some backlash in the rear end as there is a clunk when going from forward to reverse, GM has a white paper on that as well.
This problem is all over the internet, just search for "problems in 2016 GM transmission".
Had someone contact me and said they had the valve body replaced and that corrected his, on his dime of course.
Any help will be appreciated.

Jim.

Hi,

I did a little research for you and found there are several other GM vehicles affected. According to a technical service bulletin, it could require a valve body replacement. However, the TSB indicates the need to follow a relearn procedure for both up and down-shifts.

I attached the TSB below. It will require an upper-level scan tool that can communicate with the different modules.

Take a look and let me know if that has already been done by the dealer.

Take care,

Joe

Thanks for the reply. Here is what they said they did: checked ECM and TCM for updates, found updates. Programed ECM/TCM, performed fast learn adapt, test drove vehicle operating to GM specs. Refer to16-na-412.

Hi,

It sounds like they did the updates on the modules. If it is still happening, it may be related to the valve body.

Here is what I recommend. In the rear of your owner's manual, there should be a listing for Zone Reps from GM you can contact. Or I attached the phone number below for customer service. Contact them and tell them the dealer is unable to resolve the issue and ask what can be done.

Try this and let me know what they tell you.
