Okay, I have the truck listed above and it has a tapping and 2 po300's random misfires. It had a push rod rigged up with the hole sealed off and they had a dime wedged between a rocker arm and a wedge. My torque wrench wasn't clicking so I adjusted doing 3 quarter turns rotated crankshaft 360 degrees and repeated. Well when I started it it was idling at like 1,500 the tapping noise got worse and the truck shuts off when driving and there's no power in the acceleration couldn't get it over 15 mph. The little monitor said check oil pressure. I got a guy tell me that the idle could be from the throttle cable being too tight and that rigged up push rod was to make the oil pressure good from a faulty pump, which i'm hoping not. I'm pretty sure I didn't do my valve adjustment right and have my rockers too tight. So I just have to readjust them, right? :( It would be a lot easier if I could figure out this torque wrench.

Good afternoon,

This sounds like it is way beyond a valve adjustment. Some one has rigged this up trying to get it to run right.

Most likely this is going to need a camshaft and lifter replacement. That what someone else was trying to avoid.

I posted the valve adjustment below. There is no adjustment, just torquing the rocker nuts.
