Replacing oil pump and pan gasket

Cannot get engine up high enough to pull the oil pan off. Because of cross member is in the way. I found out the lobes of the crank have to be facing up into the engine. You can reach the old oil pump once the pan has been pulled down and you can reach the bolt on the oil pump. Go ahead and take the bought out and drop the oil pump into the oil pan. And the oil pan will come out.
