Randomly shuts off then no crank, no headlights

The car would crank but after a while it would shut off and the headlights would go out. I would turn the switch but no start no crank. It would set for a bit and the headlights would come back on them the car would crank. No I have no headlights and the car will not turn over even after sitting.

This is a tough one. Does anything electrical work? Have you checked main fuses under the hood in the power distribution box? Keep in mind, this could be as simple as a dirty connection at the battery or a weak ground. Have you checked to make sure the battery terminals are clean and tight as well as the grounds to the engine and body from the
battery?
