2000 Pontiac Sunfire Fuel pump

Are there different fuel pumps for the 2000 Sunfire models made that year? Like 1st half of the yr. Or whatever? And if so, how do you go about getting the right pump? We've bought 3 different pumps for that yr. On this car and none of them fit! We can get them in the tank and on the car, but the plugs on the end of the lines won't fit. Please help!

How many wires going to your pump, how many connectors.

I looked up a wiring harness for your pump, it showed one connector with four wires. Two wires should be B+ and ground for the pump, the other two is for the sending unit for the fuel gage.

If it is one connector, what is the shape, flat or square? The part stores usually sell a harness connector for the pump, it's just a connector with four pigtail wires on it. You'll have to cut the old connector off and splice on the new one.
