MY CAR STARTED MAKING THIS HIGH PITCHED WHIZZING NOISE ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO. INTIALLY IT WAS INTERMITTEN BUT NOW IT'S CONSTANT. IT GETS LOUDER THE HARDER THE ENGINE WORKS FOR EXAMPLE GOING UPHILL, ACCELERATING, USING THE HEATER OR AC. IT SOUNDS LIKE IT'S COMING FROM THE BELT AREA BUT THERE IS NO DAMAGE TO THE BELT. HELP

Check the alternator. My wife had a 98 GP with the same symptom and found that the bearings in the alternator were failing. Eventually your car won't start. Believe me. I found out on a 22 degree morning.
