I have a 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix with a 3800 Series II Supercharger. Recently it has been stalling for no apparent reason. While driving on a highway, arterial, or even in a parking garage it begins to shutter and then stalls. Just before it stalls I recieve a "Service Engine" light. Sometimes it will restart, and other times it won’t. I have added fuel additive, changed the fuel filter, fuel pump, spark plugs, and checked all the basics, oil / filter, air filter etc. But with no success. Any ideas?

Have the PCM scanned and retrieve the codes. Most auto supply stores will do it for free.

The problem is that it is intermittant. I have had it scanned and it comes up normal. After it stalls it will restart after approx. 5 minutes. How much is a test box? I feel if I could scan it when the car stalls I might get a fault code.
