1997 Pontiac Grand Prix grinding noise

When I put it in gear and go it makes this really loud grinding noise, and when I gas on it its a little jumpy.I was thinking about buying it, it has been wrecked I don't know how bad. The guy at the car lot says it is the supercharger but I really doubt it. Do you have any idea what could be causing the noise?It almost sounds like I am dragging something behind me.

I would have car checked by a mechanic of your choice, if seller won't let you do that, RUN away.

The noise is most likely a CV shaft, or wheel bearing, I doubt it is supercharger, but if it is, it will have to be replaced, and blowers are not cheap.

The fact that it has been in a collision, makes it more important that you have it checked by a mechanic before you buy.
