2002 Pontiac Grand Am starting car

I would look at the starter, or starter solenoid first. If the starter and solenoid were working properly you should hear clicking when u turn the key over. If you can get the starter off the vehicle, take it to your local Autozone and they should be able to test it for you. Good Luck.
