When I open my car door, the interior lights don't come on and I can hear a rapid clicking sound coming from the glovebox area. When I turn the key to start the car, the clicking stops, but nothing else happens and the car doesn't start.

Basically it seems like the clicking sound occurs anytime the interior lights should be on.

Check battery and connections for corrosion. Try to start the car with a jump, if it starts then you need a new battery or alternator
