I have 92 Grand Am that will not run. This happened 2 different times. It would turn over but would not run. I noticed that the gauges were not reading right they would stay the same when switch turned off. IT set a while before I could work on it. I first checked the OBD it gave me 41, 42 and something else. I disconnected the battery so I could check the coil pack, then I realized that I had to do this on the car. I hooked everything back up and started checking the coils. I used a spark tester and it started up all the coils checked out fine. The gauges started working. I went to crank up a day later same thing happened again. I had no spark coming from the coil.. It would turn over but wouldn't start. The gauges would work and the turn signal don't work. I checked the fuses. I noticed that no power on the ECM/ignition, turn signal, and gauges fuse . Coul I have a short some where.

Sounds like an ignition switch going bad. Sometimes they will work intermittently when they are on their way out

You replaced the electrical part of the switch, not the key tumbler? That is usually what keeps part of the fuse block from powering up

The switch was bad and I replaced it. It was still under warranty. Thanks for the help.
