Whinning sound from the mid way to rear of Van

I have a 1994 Plymoth Grand Voyager SE with 180,000 miles on it and has good maintence record. I'm experencing a whinning sound from the mid point to rear of the van. Noise continues when warmed up and stays present until turned off. Does not go away during drive or acceleration. I crawled under on brave day and think it's close to the gas tank but can't be sure.
Does anyone know what I have a problem with. I've driven it like this for about a month now.

Sound like your fuel pump. The pump is in the gas tank. When mine went out on my 93 voyager, 2.5L, the aftermarket pump installed was very noisy, and we heard a loud whine the whole time the van was running. When my fuel pump went out it gave out suddenly, with no warning. We had been driving on the freeway, pulled up to an exit light, and the van died. It turned over and tried to start, but would die, like it wasn't getting enough fuel. The shop said the fuel pump had gone out.
